Breeding Philosophy

The business of PoJo Ranch has been to breed horses for our generation--the "Boomers".  As we loose our limberness the size of a horse makes a big difference.  That stirrup gets a little higher every day. PoJo Ranch specializes in horses 15 hands and under.  Do we have horses that are 15.1 or 2--we sure do.  Do we have horses that are 16 hands--no way!  Most of our foals and sale horses are in the 14 to 15 hand range.

Searching for a trail buddy?  Need some help?  I try to keep a list of available, fully trained horses near the phone.  This list is not limited to the gaited breeds--Missouri Fox Trotters, Paso Finos and Tennessee Walkers.  Although I am trying to convert them I have trail riding buddies in the quarter horse world as well.  These horses are being offered by individuals I know, trust, and can recommend. Alen's Silverado

Silverado is a great trail horse and a great stallion.  He produces well conformed, people loving foals with tons of gait.  He's one of those that deserves to remain a stallion. Silverado no longer belongs to the PoJo. He will be standing in Chilicothe, Ohio for a brief period before moving to his forever home in Pennsylvania.  Click here to contact his new owners. PREPARE TO BE MOONSTRUCK IN 2013!

Generating Panda Moons is the Ranch's up and coming stallion. Yes, I did buy him because of his color.  That answers that question once and for all.  Along with that color I got a nice calm horse who had been handled since birth, he led, loaded, tied, picked up all 4 feet, enjoyed attention from people and everything you would expect a foal to do when you pay a reasonable price for them.  In addition to a good foundation I also got a horse with good gait and good head nod who should produce good foals when crossed on well pedigreed mares. Yep color sells and sometimes it proves to be worth it! Crescent Hills Walkers is producing great horses and spending time training them before you buy.

 We occasionally have visitors at the Ranch. They are always impressed by how friendly the horses are.

PoJo Ranch is being sold and will be relocating this year.  All of the stock is for sale at bargain prices. Last chance to pick up a good horse at a good price.  Whatever is left will be moving with me to our new location.
